WELCOME TO THE NYC TARTAN WEEK MÒD

New York City Tartan Week is proud to host the fourth annual NYC Tartan Week Mòd, a celebration of the Gaelic language and song. Inspired by the long tradition of Mòds in Scotland, the event brings together singers, learners, and lovers of Gaelic culture for a day of music, community, and friendly competition.

Competitors from across North America and beyond will take part in a variety of singing competitions and workshops throughout the day. Spectators are warmly invited to attend and experience the beauty of Gaelic song. Admission is free, and guests are welcome to come and enjoy the performances, learn about the tradition, and support the competitors.

The day will also feature a special performance from BBC ALBA weather presenter and renowned Gaelic singer Joy Dunlop, who will perform a few songs between competitions, adding a special musical moment to the day’s program.

The 2026 NYC Tartan Week Mòd will take place on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, located in the heart of Manhattan’s Upper East Side on Madison Avenue at 73rd Street. Join us for a memorable day celebrating the language, music, and spirit of Gaelic culture.

Come celebrate the 15th anniversary of Shot of Scotch NYC, New York City's premiere Highland dance performance group. Join us in a joyful social and ceilidh that will include snacks, beverages, and of course, plenty of dancing! This event is co-hosted with the Fling Together Collective, Shot of Scotch NYC's partners for the 2026 Tartan Day Parade, to help commemorate this cultural milestone of Highland dancing in NYC. 

NYC Tartan Week Pre-Parade Ceilidh hosted by New York Caledonian Club

The iconic New York Caledonian Club Pre-Parade Ceilidh takes over Racket NYC! Whisky Kiss, Scotland's chart-topping ceilidh band, makes their big return to NYC Tartan Week to lead us as we reel the night away.

Get ready for one of NYC Tartan Week's biggest parties, with high-energy music and dancing, delicious food and drink, and a Scottish ceilidh like no other. Tickets are limited, so get yours now for this truly unforgettable highlight of NYC Tartan Week.

Returning for a fifth year, Craig Weir & Friends’ Tartan Week Hoolie will once again come alive at Alan Cumming’s (last year’s Grand Marshal) Club Cumming.

This event has become one of the highlights of NYC Tartan Week featuring a variety of talent from across the Tartan Week programme.

It guarantees Scottish music, dance and craic to the wee hours! You don’t want to miss it!

A great way to begin parade day as pipe bands from near and far join us with great music and dance. Once again we will be filling the air with the sound of bagpipes in the run up to the Parade

The Kirkin' is a pan-denominational Christian blessing of the tartans of the clans, celebrating Scotland and Scots in America. A time-honored event for the whole family. (The Pre-Parade Brunch immediately follows.)

The National Tartan Day New York Committee was formed in 2002 and obtained official nonprofit 501(c)(3) status in 2003 to organize the NYC Tartan Day Parade and all the associated activities that make up NYC Tartan Week. In following its mission to celebrate and spread awareness of the contributions made by Scottish Americans to the United States, the committee continually partners with organizations throughout New York City, the United States, and Scotland to present opportunities for those who have or identify with Scottish heritage to connect through more than a dozen Scottish-themed events each year during NYC Tartan Week. The committee is committed to providing meaningful exchanges and inspiring experiences in order to showcase the rich Scottish heritage that continues to thrive in America. The committee is comprised of representatives from The Saint Andrew’s Society of the State of New York, The New York Caledonian Club, The American-Scottish Foundation, and Clan Campbell.

Come join the second-annual NYC Highland Dance competition, which will give dancers a chance to showcase their art at its highest form and the public a chance to witness this cornerstone of Highland dance culture in NYC.

Join the New York Caledonian Club for our legendary Sunday Scottish Fry—the perfect way to recover from all those post-parade celebrations!

Dive into an all-you-can-eat buffet loaded with traditional Scottish breakfast favorites including HAGGIS, while live traditional music fills the air. Whether you're nursing a wee headache or just working up an appetite from the Post-Parade Party, there's no better cure than good food, great company, and the sounds of Scotland.

And the party doesn't stop there! Head downstairs to the Tailor afterward, where the music session keeps rolling.

Join us for a final performance on the Fountain Terrace at Bryant Park before we depart NYC Tartan Week 2025.

Join us downstairs after the Sunday Brunch to close out NYC Tartan Week with great music and good company. The NYC Tartan Week Sunday Session is a relaxed gathering where musicians, performers, and friends of the Scottish community come together to wind down after a busy and memorable week.

Expect an informal afternoon filled with traditional tunes, familiar songs, and plenty of spontaneous collaborations. Whether you’ve spent the week marching, performing, or simply enjoying the celebrations, the Sunday Session is the perfect way to sit back, enjoy the music, and savor one last taste of Tartan Week before everyone heads home.
