THE NATIONAL TARTAN DAY NEW YORK COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES:
REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON OCTOBER 1st, 2020 at 12:00pm
FOR THE 23rd ANNUAL
NEW YORK CITY TARTAN DAY PARADE
TO BE HELD ON APRIL 10, 2021
COVID-19 announcement: We know that we are being optimistic thinking that the Parade will take place as planned, and that we will be able to put 2020 behind us. We will be taking every precaution possible as outlined by the CDC, and the NY State Government guidelines. We will continue to stay up to date on all regulations.
So, make a plan, (don’t you feel better already?), to come out, and join us to march up Sixth Avenue in New York City, wear your kilt, listen to the skirl of the bagpipes, and to the cheers tens of thousands of spectators. We admit bias when we say it is the most fun Parade in New York City, and we sorely missed it in 2020. So, join us in 2021 for pipe bands from across the globe, dancers, clans, dogs, politicians, Scottish cultural organizations, plus of COURSE, the Loch Ness Monster, in a joyous New York City celebration of Scottish pride. Let’s get back to doing what we love to do; celebrate all things Scottish!
Groups and individuals are invited to march in the 23rd Annual New York City Tartan Day Parade on Saturday, April 10, 2021 by registering at www.nyctartanweek.org.

April 6 has been officially (Presidential Proclamation, in fact) designated as National Tartan Day in the United States. A day for recognizing Scottish and Scottish-American contributions to the United States, and for celebrating Scottish heritage and pride. The Parade is held annually on a Saturday closest to the 6th. The Parade features bagpipe bands playing Scottish music, thousands of marchers dressed in tartan, many more proudly representing their clans, plus a slew of groups and associations celebrating Scottish heritage. Also included are the popular four-legged participants, the Dog Pack, comprising several Scottish dog breeds. The days before are called “Tartan Week” and are filled with a full range of Scottish-themed events.
