The Pipes & Drums – Fountain Terrace Bryant Park













Join us on the Fountain Terrace of Bryant Park to hear the sound of the Pipes and Drums from some of our leading Pipe Bands as they prepare for the 18th Annual New York Tartan Day Parade.

Kirkin O’ The Tartan and Pre-Parade Brunch


Kick off Parade day with the Kirkin o’ the Tartan Church Service and Pre Parade Brunch. A time honored event for the entire family. The Service will be followed by the pre parade brunch. All are welcome to march with Saint Andrew’s at the parade.

Reservations are required for the brunch.

Tea with a Highlander with Author Sarah Fraser



Join for tea, talk, and book signing with celebrated author Sarah Fraser as she explores the life of Lord Lovat and her book “The Last Highlander.”

Between 1670 and 1747, Lovat lived in tumultuous times and was beheaded for his part in Bonnie Prince Charlie’s Jacobite rebellion, inspiring the character of Jamie Fraser on the television show Outlander.

The event will conclude with wine and cheese toast with Scottish Clans & Castles.

20th Anniversary National Tartan Day Observance













The Tartan Day Observance recognizes and celebrates, through readings and music, National Tartan Day. In 1998, Senate Resolution 155 passed making April 6th an annual celebration of Tartan Day.

This was followed in 2005 by House Resolution 41 and in 2008 by Presidental Proclamation from President Bush. April 6th commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath in 1320.

Tartan Day Observance is presented by the American-Scottish Foundation.
